ComfortSeal 500 is a light density open cell foam (0.5 lb/ft³, water blown) with R-13 in a 2x4 wall (3.5 inches), 100× expansion, and sound dampening of NRC 0.75 and STC 39 — suited to interior walls, attics, and sound control. ComfortSeal HFO is a medium density closed cell foam (2.0 lb/ft³, HFO blown with a GWP of 1) with R-25 in the same 3.5 inches that also acts as a Class II vapor retarder, cures rigid, and is tested to 210 psf wind uplift (UL 1897).
Once it has cured, spray foam is a stable, solid insulation. While it is being sprayed it is not: the chemicals are hazardous during application, so occupants stay out while the crew works and until the area has been ventilated and the installer says it is time to return.
