How certification works
The course is free, online and self-paced. An owner registers the company once; every crew member then trains under their own login and earns their own certificate.
Register your company
Create your company account in the installer portal: a few details and you are in. There is no fee to register, to train or to be certified.
Add your crew and train
Owners add each crew member in the portal, and each one gets their own login. They work through eleven online lessons and a final exam at their own pace. Every lesson ends with a quiz, 80% passes, and the modules unlock in order so nobody skips the safety material.
Get certified & join the network
Pass the final exam at 80% and the certificate is issued on the spot, numbered CS-YYYY-NNNNN and valid for two years. Anyone can confirm it on the verify page. Certified installers join the network and can offer the limited lifetime warranty on the foam on every qualifying project.

Times are estimates for a first pass. Each lesson ends with a short quiz; the final exam draws its questions from every module and is passed at 80%. Owners, crew leads and helpers all take the same course, and every person who sprays ComfortSeal should hold their own certificate. A crew member who misses the mark on a quiz reviews that module and tries again; retakes are unlimited, and nothing moves forward until the module before it is passed.
What contractors ask before they enroll
Is ComfortSeal installer certification free?+
Yes. There is no charge to register a company, add crew members, take the course or receive the certificate. The course is online and self-paced, so the only cost is your crew's time.
How long does the certification course take?+
The eleven lessons add up to 91 minutes of course time and the final exam is budgeted at 15 minutes, so a first pass through everything takes about 106 minutes, a little under two hours. Progress saves as you go, so a crew member can finish in one sitting or spread it over several days.
Do ComfortSeal certificates expire?+
Yes. Each certificate is valid for two years from the date it is issued. To renew, the installer signs back in to the portal and passes the course and final exam again. USAFoam, LLC can also revoke a certificate, and the verify page always shows the current status.
Can a homeowner check a certificate?+
Yes. Every certificate has a public number in the form CS-YYYY-NNNNN. Anyone can enter it on the verify page to see who the certificate belongs to and whether it is active, expired or revoked. Building inspectors can use the same page, since both IAPMO evaluation reports require installation by contractors certified by USAFoam, LLC.
Certification is a closing tool
Certified installers can offer the limited lifetime warranty on the foam. It's the difference between bidding on price and winning on trust.
